Located 15 km (9.3 miles) southeast of the city center, the airport can be reached in about 15 minutes.

  • Tamar Valley. Another popular scenic area just a short drive from Launceston, Tamar Valley is best known as a destination for wine. Whilst turquoise white sand beaches are mostly associated with mainland Australia, you will be absolutely amazed at the fine white sand in the Bay of Fires on the East Coast of Tasmania. It squeaks underneath one's feet when walking on it. The Bay of Fires stretches between Binanlong Bay and Eddystone point and is known for its orange-hued granite rocks scattered across the beach.

We drove our Alamo Hire Car (Toyota Corolla) from Launceston to St Helens/Bay of Fires region via the A4 and returned via the A3. The A3 takes longer as it's a very winding road in places, but well worth it. The Toyota Corolla was a perfectly good car for the two of us for this trip.

I love Klaswagen
I love Klaswagen, so booked a car to pick up on 29th of April from Timisoara, however, I missed the point that I booked via Wizzair. Unfortunately due to an objective reason I had to cancel my flight and to rebook for another destination. Although the booking was via Wizzair, however, I have got an amazing service in Sibiu, they kindly without any extra charge, they transferred my booking to Klaswagen Sibiu. A lovely lady called Magdalena who kindly helped in a very short time, and then I got another medical emergency which obliged me to return back to London before my planned date, again another Klaswagen employee Timothy was amazing, he facilitate my logistics and I have been able without hassle to get back however, receiving a voucher for my remaining days. They. Are just amazing.
