Nizacars Rent A Car at Barcelona Airport

Pros: Nos dieron la opcion de upgradear el vehiculo con una minima diferencia. Fueron muy claros con el estado del vehiculo (tenia algunos daños previos, pero se aclaro en el contrato). El servicio de transporte desde y hacia el aeropuerto fue muy rapido. Mejor precio que otros proveedores para poder usar el vehiculo fuera de España.

Pros: NizaCars had a seamless connection with DiscoverCars. Americans, please be aware you are required by law in Spain to have an IDP, which you must obtain BEFORE leaving the country at AAA for ~20USD.

Cons: Unless I had read the entire T&C's of the company I would have been charged for so much more and possibly even denied rental. My advice to others renting is know your stuff, film EVERYTHING before and after return. Please be aware their cross border charge is 15€ per day with the caveat that a 45€ minimum charge is required which I found quite predatory for short term rentals.

Pros: I got the car I needed at a good price. They quickly replaced the car with a new one after a warning light showed on the panel.

Cons: They are pushy about the insurance and if you don’t take it they seem to look for any minuscule scratch to try and charge for damages. Drop off inspection is not made in front of the client and there’s no way to recourse.

Pros: The car( Octavia) was great for its purpose, but a brand new car for a tourist and NO NAVIGATION. What are you thinking, it is supposed to be standard equipment on every rental car. Without a co driver with qooqle maps, we would have been totally lost.

Cons: The airport shuttle should have been 10- 15 min waiting time to arrive and get us to nizacars. It took nearly 45min before it arrived.

Pros: Shuttle bus driver was very friendly and prompt pick up to take me to airport on my return.

Cons: I was asked to sign an iPad to state car had no damage having being told this before I'd seen the vehicle. Was given keys and told which bay it was in. Car was in a different bay but when I eventually found it, the car had numerous scratches on bumper. No agent came out with me to view. Took photos and videos and went back inside and was told long as I took photos it would be fine. I emailed them immediately to rental agreement email. Then when I got in the car it was filthy.

NizaCars speaks really bad about Discovercars and the insurance I subscribed with them. It’s not giving me a great feeling of both parties and I don’t feel like I want to rent a car on discovercars nor NizaCars.

Pros: I have almost only good things to say! The experience was good, smooth and easy. The car was what we expected and the staff was nice.

Cons: Fuel was at 3/4 when I got the car, which I noticed when I was driving it. When I returned it full, I mentioned it and was told by the representative that they knew about it but I was not advised. Online check-in didn't work, it was a waste of time.

Cons: We had a long wait for the transfer, and the instructions to find it aren't very clear. Because we were late to the pick up, they said they couldn't find me in the system. I was then told I had to pay a large sum for insurance because I wasn't paying by credit card. It didn't say that anywhere on my confirmation otherwise I would have taken a credit card with me. The tank wasn't full of fuel (about 3/4) and it cost me another €65 to fill it back up. So the car hire wasn't as cheap as expected!

Cons: They attract people with low prices and then screw them at pick up. They refused to use my debit card for deposit and I was forced to pay 160€ instead of 35€ for the rent (ohh and then they accepted debit card). Highly disappointed experience and will never use it gem again

We kept trying to call reception to tell them to pick us up but they would not answer the phone as was only one woman serving customers and answering the phone. Once she answered, the minibus was there in 5 minutes. Once we got the car, we weren’t told it was a hybrid and having never driven an electric car before, it took me ages to realise it was already on (being electric)

We reserved the car on line and it said it was unlimited miles if we stayed in Spain. When we returned they charged an extra. $400.00 for miles. The price looked good on line next time I’ll stick to one of the bigger name renters.

Pros: The rental price at the BCN off-airport Nizacar location was considerably cheaper than an identical rental would have cost with a pick-up at the airport, and to that extent the savings meaningfully subsidized the rest of our trip. Additionally, the entire pick-up and delivery process was much simpler than its written description led me to believe. Very simple and direct, I found.

Cons: I was told (correctly or incorrectly could not be determined) that if I wanted to visit France for 3-4 days out of our three week-plus rental period that I would have to pay a USD $15/day supplement (equal to about a 50% surcharge) for the entire rental period, even though the time in France would have neen less than 13% of the rental period. Clearly, this makes no sense, and it is not the policy of Europcar from whom I normally rent (unless their policy has changed in the past 2-3 years).

Cons: Car pickup was horrible, as NeziCars did not came to pick my family up from the airport, leaving my two kids (<10 years old) in the heat and sun. Called NeziCars three times and they kept making excuses: we were not in the system, they had a power outage (how does that affect the pickup bus?!?) and they would be there in 10 minutes (took them more than one hour, for a 6 minute drive to their office). The clerk behind the counter was then only able to help one customer in 30 minutes. HORRIBLE!
